Johannes Skoog

Winner of the First Prize and the Bach Prize at the 2024 Canadian International Organ Competition, Johannes Skoog is one of Sweden’s most distinguished young organists. He has been appointed and honored by His Majesty the King of Sweden as the new Royal Court Organist.

Skoog has performed at major venues across Europe, including Bozar in Brussels, Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, and Paris Philharmonie. He holds degrees from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et Danse de Paris, and the Staatliche Musikhochschule in Stuttgart, where he graduated with the highest honors. He is the only student in history to receive the highest distinction in organ interpretation (mention très bien à l’unanimité avec félicitations du jury) for both years of the master’s program at the Paris Conservatory. His teachers include Olivier Latry, Nathan Laube, Louis Robilliard, Michel Bouvard, Thierry Escaich, and Mathias Kjellgren.

He has served as Associate Organist at Västerås Cathedral, Stockholm Cathedral, and Hedvig Eleonora Church.
