Chalemie and Friends present: From Fanfares to Fireworks, a celebration of the ‘natural’ trumpet
A concert in aid of St Andrew’s Building Fund
Featuring works by Handel, Mozart and others from the 17th and 18th centuries for trumpet ensemble, timpani and organ.
Our concert is the final output of a weekend workshop at St Andrew’s, Barnsbury. It will show aspects of the trumpet player's art: Arrangements for trumpets and organ of famous pieces by Handel, such as the Royal Fireworks Music, Mozart’s Divertimenti for five trumpets and two cornets, plus a selection of works for Renaissance trumpet ensemble by earlier composers.
Interspersed between these items will be a number of works from the 17th & 18th centuries for solo organ, by composers such as Byrd, Froberger, Lully, Rameau and Bach.
